The “B” Pizza


I love foods that begin with “B”. Bread, Bacon, Butter, Beer, Brie Cheese…. shall I continue?

The inspiration behind this post was to combine a whole lotta “B” things I love on top of a delicious pizza. And boy was it good.

1 whole wheat pizza crust
1/2 white onion, sliced thin
1 red bell pepper, sliced thin
4 strips bacon
2 balls Buratta Cheese
1/2 cup Italian cheese blend (something sharp)
1 cup shredded brussel sprouts
1 cup baby tomatoes, halved
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil


Start by sweating your peppers and onions in a pot and start to get them caramelized. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.


Lay cornmeal down on your pizza stone and shape your dough into a circle. Lay it on the stone.


Drizzle the crust with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil.


Add the onion and pepper mix. Next add the raw brussel sprouts.


Top the pizza with the tomatoes and bacon. I used turkey bacon for this one, but if using raw pork bacon, I would 3/4 of the way cook it first before putting it on the pizza.


Lastly, break up the Buratta cheese and dollop all over the pizza. Sprinkle the Italian blend on top.


Bake for 20-25 minutes in the oven till the cheese and crust brown.
